CommentBacterial two hybrid studies in Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAK have shown that RocS1 and RocS2 can both interact with RocA2. Furthermore, a microarray study of PAK and PAK?rocA2, both overexpressing rocS2, revealed that RocA2 represses the expression of the mexAB-oprM gene cluster. qRT-PCR studies confirmed that the same signalling can be achieved by overexpressing rocS1, and in both cases the repression of mexAB-oprM led to an increased sensitivity to antibiotics.
CommentRocA2 can interact with two sensors, RocS1 (PA3946) and RocS2 (PA3044). Signalling by RocS1 and RocS2 through RocA2 and leads to repression of the mexAB-oprM gene cluster and increased sensitivity to antibiotics.
